]]>

If you're not already familiar with Melbourne based label 'Peggy' then its absolutely one for your list! Catering for girls aged 0-3 months to 12 years, its modern vintage aesthetic offers classic styles with an air of old fashioned whimsicality. We sat down with Simone Ryan, founder and director of Peggy, to learn more about her enviable journey in the fashion industry and the inspiration behind the new AW21 Garden Dreams collection. Unquestionably one of the most gracious and knowledge women in the children’s fashion space, we are thrilled to share with you our exclusive chat with Simone.

TP: Tell us a bit about how you first began your career in fashion? Were you always drawn to designing childrenswear?

SR: A long, long time ago at a store called Kookai on Chapel Street I met beautiful friends and a love of fashion was ignited. This lead to many different positions in the world of fashion across the globe, finally bringing me back to Melbourne to work on an amazing brand, called Paul Frank. This crazy ride was interrupted by the birth of my beautiful son Finn, and then an opportunity arose with a childrenswear brand, Littlehorn, and my agency, All the Stories Agency was born. So for the last 15 years or so, you could say I have been well and truly entrenched in the world of childrenswear! I now purely focus on Peggy, and work on individual projects within the industry.

TP: Tell us about the inspiration behind the newly launched Autumn Winter 21 collection?

SR: Actually, it was literally one strip of vintage floral embroidery I picked up in India on a trip I did pre covid. It became the basis for the blue floral print, which we had re-drawn by a beautiful friend and collaborator, Petrina Hare, and we took elements from this to develop the embroidery on the sleeve of the Rimini dress and top. From this, the collection evolved, further as we established the colour palette, fabrics and styles that would sit in each story.

TP: When designing a collection what are the first steps you take?

SR: This collection began with an idea and design from that one strip of fabric and embroidery. We then work on the colour palette, fabric designs that form the basis for each story and we then decide on shapes and fabrications. It almost becomes a puzzle! We identify gaps in the range, repeat shapes that have always worked that we are known for, or search for vintage pieces to be re-worked.

FABRIC: LENZING MODAL

TP: You have some new fabrications this season, can you share with us a bit about these and why you’ve chosen them?

SR: In a world where “sustainable” is the new buzz word in fashion and “green-washing” is rife, we are committed to being as transparent as possible. We want to be mindful, sustainable and truthful. We are really trying hard to work with sustainable fabrics and organic cottons where we can, working with high quality products that can be passed on. Lenzing Modal® is a really interesting one that we were introduced to when we were in India. It is one of the most sustainable fibres in the textile industry. It is made with beech wood, a replenishable raw material, and during production up to 95% of the chemicals used are recycled. Lenzing Modal® is CO2-neutral since the production process is integrated with cellulose recovery. This fabric was a huge hit with our models during the shoot, it is so soft… none of them wanted to take it off!

TP: What comes to mind when you think of Winter?

SR: Last winter comes to mind, when in Melbourne we were in lockdown! I cherished every minute of this tie where we all truly slowed down. Playing Monopoly with my family, having dress-up zoom drinks with friends by the fire, long cold walks rugged up at the beach. Although challenging, in hindsight stopping, slowing down and being present as a family made for an unforgettable Winter and 9 months really!!!

TP: What is your favourite piece from the collection and why?

I love all the pieces with embroidery detail. I loved working on these with our factory in India, they put so much work into getting the design right, so the dusty pink Rimini Dress is super pretty. I also love the long tulle Olivia skirt, back with the Grace knit with the metallic thread, and for baby, I love the August and Sidney playsuits, because they are perfect for our unpredictable weather when the sun is shining, or can be layered when it’s cold!!

Louise Misha x rundreisetipps

A limited edition four piece swimwear capsule collection.

We are thrilled to unveil our collaboration with our long time favourite French bohemian baby, little girls and womens wear label, Louise Misha.

From Paris With Love

From Paris to Australia, the uniquely vintage and feminine universe of Louise Misha inspired our collection print, along with a desire to inject elements of the Australian summer and our coastal way of life. The turquoise tones of our jewel seas and the brilliant pinks and golden of the evening summer sky come together to create the basis for our 'Sunset Flowers' range.

The harshness of the Australian sun also influenced our style selections, and we are so excited to be debuting Louise Misha's brand new Long Sleeve UV Protective Set. The little girls bikini has also, for the first time, been manufactured using the same fabrication as the other swimwear styles, make it more durable for the many hours of summer fun ahead.

This collaboration of limited edition pieces comes from a love of colour and free spiritedness, and a passion to bring to you, our customers, truely special and individual styles.

LOUISE MISHA AW19

This season Louise Misha takes us on an exceptional journey to the heart of Latin America. If there’s a mythical land with overwhelmingly beautiful landscapes that is home to a people with captivating glances and an ancient history, it is definitely Peru, the land of the Incas. The Parisian label is renowned for its modern bohemian styles featuring bright pops of colour, hand-made embroidery and beautiful natural fibres.

With silky velvets, airy silks, warm, floaty knits, Andes embroideries, scalloped ruffles and delicate laces, Louise Misha reworks the heritage of the fascinating country of Peru by softly, delicately attaching it to its own strong identity.

For the Winter 19 collection we are thrilled to introduce the new Women's lingerie line, along with the most beautiful mother / daughter looks. This collection is oh so easy to wear, exceptionally beautiful, and will have everyone asking, where did you get that outfit?

IL GUFO: REFINED ITALIAN LUXURY

Il Gufo is a premium clothing brand for those who want the absolute best. High-quality creations made by Italian artisans. Made in Italy is the go to, with the best fabrics and supreme style.

Founded in 1980 by Giovanna Miletti, who moved with her husband and 3 children to the Veneto region in Italy and started making clothes in the family greenhouse. The gifted mother was nicknamed ‘il Gufo’, which means ‘owl’, because she would stay up all night designing and sewing clothing.

Today, il Gufo is a well-established brand with international reach, but it still run by Giovanna and two of her children. Family is everything. The quality of the stylish and timeless garments is unparalleled.

THE FASHION SHOW

Each season an il Gufo collection releases with an amazing fashion show, more befitting an adult designer fashion brand than a children's.

Stunning sets and incredible production featuring the cutest kids and most stylish clothing.

Watch the video below to see for yourself.

AUTUMN WINTER 19

Il Gufo's AW19 collection takes inspiration from the yarn, material and origin of every garment, taking you on a discovery of new stories made of words and images.
The common theme of AW19 takes us back to where it all started: the hills of Asolo and the conservatory where founder Giovanna Miletti brought her first creations to life.

``I had glass walls put in the porch of the house, transforming it into a proper workshop, and I used to use my children's ping pong table to cut patterns.``

Attention to detail, a love of things well made and the value of a tradition that can be passed from generation to generation: these are the most important components that bring a quality collection to life.
From choosing the raw materials, to working with them, through to a finished, well-balanced garment. The reference to tradition is paramount in this collection. This season more than ever, the fluidity in the juxtaposition of shapes, materials, and especially colours makes the collection a reassuring representation of the tradition of the brand.
Every aspect is designed to offer a refined yet functional product, so that children can move around and play with total freedom.

“We’ve taken back the most authentic and precious tradition of manufacturing and we've added Italian sweetness and brightness to create a combination of quality and aesthetic choices that leave the readers free to interpret, even making room for fun onomatopoeic effects,” says Alessandra Chiavelli, CEO of Il Gufo.
Phrases and jacquard details embellish pierrot collars and wool garments, jumpers and coats with embroidery and intarsias, and evening dresses with sparkling ramage. Autumnal coats come in a range of options such as the faux-fur leopard jacket or woollen duffle coat.
The brightest colours conjure up ideas of open-air adventure: the many shades of green, from forest to army, blend together with orange, camel and greys, to give a natural and authentic feel.
Refined black and white are combined for everyday suggestions such as the tartan pinafore dress. Finally, powder pink and azure are brightened up with lamé materials and mohair wool belts.

Shapes are always soft and gentle, being reinterpreted through materials and fabrics.

MEET MAMA
TINY PEOPLE OWNER CLAIRE LLOYD

We chat to Claire Lloyd, one half of the duo behind rundreisetipps and mama to Evie, 3 and Remy, 18 months, about running an ecommerce business, sustainability in the fashion industry, how her style has changed since having kids – and how she runs a successful brand while also juggling tantrums and the school run.

Tell us who you are and what do you do at rundreisetipps?

I’m the owner and one of two directors. I am responsible for buying – but as we’re a small team, I am involved in literally every aspect of the business, from packing orders to uploading products, to answering customer enquiries… absolutely everything you can imagine! Marketing, social media, everything.

You run rundreisetipps with your husband, Toby – what’s his role?

We’ve never really differentiated our roles, but I think we’ve just fallen into the parts that we’re more skilled at. He’s definitely better at all of the IT side, finding new marketing avenues, and customer service.

What does a typical day (if there is a such thing!) in your life look like?

I usually wake up around 6am with my 18-month-old, and then it’s just the normal morning mayhem of getting dressed, getting everyone breakfast, getting lunches made etc. if it’s a school day. Our 3-year-old goes to junior kindy at school three days a week, so if it’s a school day I’m doing the school run, and then home to start on rundreisetipps.

We then check all the emails that have come in overnight, reply to any customer emails and print out orders. If there’s a launch, we check that’s being managed and is going smoothly, then it’s packing orders, afternoon school run, then home to do some more orders, and then a few hours with the kids before bed time. After they’re in bed, depending on how busy we are, if it’s buying season or launches then it’s usually getting prepared for whatever’s happening the next day.

What do you love about working in the kids’ fashion space?

We see how important children’s fashion is to our own children, to our daughter in particular – she’s three now, so she has opinions about what she wants to wear! And we appreciate just how much fun they have with it, how they can express themselves, and I think that’s an important part of childhood to have. We’re all about celebrating childhood, and that’s our style with all our clothes, to be bright and fun and let them experiment and express themselves.

Beyond this, I’m passionate about fostering the rundreisetipps community as a likeminded tribe of mums, parents and families. We are in the process of launching a rundreisetipps Facebook group, which will be a spaceabout more than perhaps your latest purchases, but also a place for sharing advice, inspiration, or things that you might find cool locally to go and do and see. That’s something I can struggle with, thinking about where to take my children on the weekends, so I think that will be great to have a place where you can see what’s on, and share ideas. Eventually we will also post events, pop-up shops, sales, even community events and mum’s meet-ups in the Facebook group, so this is something I’m really excited about. Watch this space!

You and Toby are both passionate about sustainability in the fashion industry, and ensuring that rundreisetipps is run as sustainably as possible – how does this play out day-to-day?

Last year we switched to the biodegradable shipping packaging, which we use for as many of our orders as we can. We try to look to brands that are also implementing these measures. Some of our labels will now ship to us in biodegradable packaging, which we like to encourage everyone to do.

We also make sure that we only ever work with brands that, their processes are as sustainable as possible, that they are ethical, and their clothes are manufactured to the highest standards, from a humanity perspective as well as what’s being produced.

What are the biggest challenges of running an ecommerce store?

There’s so many. I think the importance of marketing doesn’t really get spoken about enough, but behind the scenes, the amount of time and effort that goes into that is huge.

And being able to communicate who you are without having that tactile element, you don’t have that physical store where people can actually come and see the colours that you’re going to put on the wall, the music or the sensory things, so being able to communicate that in different ways through your social media, the colours that you put on your website, and how you display your website, becomes paramount.

How did your career aspirations change after becoming a mother?

So, to rewind,I studied commerce at uni – I did an accounting and financial planning major. I then worked for an accounting firm for four years, then worked for an oil and gas company for 10 years in the finance department as financial controller.

I’ve always been quite driven throughout my career and wanted to achieve certain things, but that changed when I had children. When I went on maternity leave with my first child, I realised that going back to that role wasn’t going to quite work, because it was a lot of hours and a lot of travel. So I started to look at opportunities for something I could do from home.

I started my own online children’s boutique, but I realised fairly soon, just after I had my second child, that in order to be successful you needed to be on a much bigger scale. And then rundreisetipps came up as an opportunity to acquire, and that’s how we ended up with rundreisetipps.

How do you wear both your ‘business owner’ and ‘mum’ hats at once? Any tips?!

I think everyone finds it difficult! I don’t think there’s any one-size-fits-all answer; I think that you just need to be flexible. And it really depends on what age and stage your kids are currently at, which is obviously constantly changing. I definitely work around my 18-month-old’s schedule, so when he’s sleeping I will get a lot more work done than when he’s awake. I prioritise making sure my children have been out and about, and done something during the day, mealtimes and things like that.

I find it’s still possible to work, I’ve got a good support network with my husband, so we are able to balance it between us, I think quite well, hopefully! I think having an outlet, which happens to also be a business, definitely makes me more balanced as a mum – I hope!

What do your family like to do together on the weekend?

I spend a lot of time at playgrounds, which I’ve learnt to love! In summertime we like to get to the beach as much as possible. And also going down to my family’s farm and just doing ‘farm stuff’.

How has your personal style changed since you became a mum?

It certainly has, I think out of necessity. I don’t think my wardrobe was so practical before! When you’ve got two under three, you can’t really avoid the sticky fingers, so it’s probably become a lot more pieces that can go in the washing machine. But I’m also definitely not a mum who likes to be in activewear all day, so I like to still put on my dresses, which now just have to go in the wash.

What would you say is the most joyful thing about being a mum?

I think how happy they always are to see you… When they wake up, you can’t really get any better than that. And it’s just fun. I think it’s the small things, those are pretty great. And the funny things they say.

What have you found to be the most challenging part?

Well, we’re in the toddler phase at the moment, so the tantrums can be a bit epic. I think it keeps changing – every phase you think, ‘This is so challenging’. It depends what phase you’re in. But sleep deprivation is always tough. And stubbornness! Just sheer exhaustion, it’s like nothing else.

What type of mother do you aspire to be?

It’s so cliché, but I probably aspire to be like my parents. They both always worked and probably instilled that work ethic in us. We were never bored – there was always something to do. I think if my children end up like that, then I’ll be quite happy. I’d like them to understand what it takes to work, and understand the world, but also to be able to occupy themselves.

I also look to other women who are balancing kids and also following their career path or their passion. I definitely look up to those women and how they’ve managed to achieve all that.

What does success mean to you?

That’s a good question – and a really hard one to answer. Probably something a lot different to what I thought it looked like 10 years ago! I think obviously being comfortable in your lifestyle financially – that to me is successful, as opposed to being wealthy. Working hard too and seeing what you’re working at come to fruition. And creating a beautiful, happy family environment for my beautiful children to grow up in – at the end of the day, that to me is success.

]]>

The ‘twinning’ trend is still going strong in 2019 – and we’d argue there’s no cuter way to declare to the world your love for your mini me than with a look that says, ‘I’m hers and she’s mine’.

Yep, you can’t scroll for two minutes without Instagram presenting you with a stylish mama working a gorgeously coordinated look with her offspring. We love Perth local Justine Olive’s coordinated clan (@justy_olive) and Olli Ella founder Chloe Brookman’s Byron boho take on the trend (@olliella). Also check out Eva Chen’s (aka Instagram’s fashion partnerships director) feed (@evachen212) or our ultimate mama crush, Laura Wills of @thefashionbugblog for inspo on nailing this look without veering into twee territory.

Perhaps you’ve never deliberately decided to work your look with your daughter’s – but you still somehow seem to find yourselves lining up for your morning latte and babycino fix decked out in, er, suspiciously similar pieces. After all, if you’re feeling florals when you pick out your own look in the morning (or the night before, if you’re one of those women), you’ll likely be drawn to the same aesthetic when rifling through your little one’s wardrobe, without even realising.

So why not take it next level and co-ordinate with intention? The results can be seriously eye-catching (and cute beyond belief) when done right. The key? Toeing the line between too-sweet and OTT head-to-toe matching.

As they say, the days are long but the years are short – and, as mums of older offspring will attest, the window of time where your daughter will delight in matching with her mama (or where she’ll even let you into her room, let alone have a say in her wardrobe choices!) is a precious one. So here’s to embracing the hers-and-hers look as a testament to this special point in time. Plus, it makes for damn cute photos.

Whether you’re going for adorably matchy-matchy or more of a pared-back vibe, read on for six labels we love whose current kidswear and womenswear collections offer on-point mama-and-me pieces – plus how to keep the look on the right side of cute.

1. CHECK MATES AT OLLI ELLA

Sold out

rundreisetipps was born on the sunny shores of Byron Bay, so we’ve got a particular penchant for local Byron mamas, such as the Olli Ella crew, and their relaxed boho style. These double guaze organic cotton dresses feature the breezy same fabric in slightly different cuts, and are perfect for pairing your look in an oops-we-just-woke-up-coordinated-like-this way.

DO: Keep it cool and casual by pairing each of your dresses with accessories unique to your ages and individual styles.

DON’T: Be scared of this colour! Rust and earthy tones are having a big moment right now – and they’re actually far more flattering on most skin tones than you might expect.

2. PRETTY PEACHY AT NUMERO 74

Sold out
Sold out

Perfect for a spring BBQ in the sunshine, these handcrafted mum-and-bub pieces work together beautifully without looking like you’re wearing matching uniforms. You’ll feel elegant and ladylike in a maxi, while bub’s deliciously cute leg rolls will still be out and proud in her romper.

DO: Coordinate prints and/or colourways in a way that suits you both.

DON’T: Think that twinning means dressing your little one up to look like an adult or – perhaps worse – bringing out the mama-sized rompers! You can have lots of fun with twinning while still keeping your daughter’s look playful and sweet, and yours gorgeously grown-up.

3. IDENTICAL TWINNING AT RYLEE & CRU

Sold out
Sold out

For those not interested in anything less than full-blown twinning, Rylee & Cru’s current collection features this seriously covetable jumpsuit in identical women’s and tiny-sized options. The effortless stripes in cotton crepe make going matchy-matchy a dream.

DO: Play around with identical pieces, even if you’d still like to inject a point of difference into your mini-and-me look. Mix it up by layering your daughter’s with a white tee underneath, or try the same piece in a different colour, (note: this jumpsuit also comes in saffron for girls).

DON’T: Be surprised if you get more than the usual number of old ladies ooh’ing and aah’ing as you lead your little one down the street.

4. FLORALS AT LOUISE MISHA

Sold out

They may have said that florals for spring weren’t groundbreaking – but doubling up on your petal power can be a game-changer. We’re a bit in love with this dreamy print and, well, why add just one to cart when there are options for both of you?

DO: Layer for winter according to the cut of each piece – think tights for her mini dress and a denim jacket for your short sleeves.

DON’T: Forget to check out the other gorgeous girl’s pieces by Louise Misha in this print (we just can’t go past the frilled bikini!).

5. SAME SAME, BUT DIFFERENT AT BERGSTEIN

You don’t have to go head-to-toe when trying mama-daughter twinning on for size. A well-placed coordinated accessory, such as these too-cute gumboots, can offer a nod to each other’s looks without screaming, “Look at us!”

DO: Work matching accessories in with your individual tastes. If your little one is all about the rainbow effect, whereas you’re still all about monochrome, you can choose brights for her and a more pared-back, grown-up version of the same piece for you.

DON’T: Forget this approach also works for garments as well as accessories. We’re all for dressing kids as kids (while still looking stylish) – and many brands offer matching women’s and kid’s pieces in differing colourways. (Try Nico Nico’s short-sleeved tees, which come in gorgeous brights for mini and more sophisticated muted tones for mama.)

6. RED ON RED AT LOUIS LOUISE

Sold out
Sold out

We’re pretty smitten with both the women’s and girls’ versions of this dress! Bright, bohemian and a little bit luxe, it’s a winner for twinning with your mini me on special occasions.

DO: Bring this so-sweet mama-and-me look out for birthdays, parties and Christmas Day lunch.

DON’T: Hesitate to dress it down with cowboy boots (for you), white trainers (for her) and a denim jacket for Sunday BBQs (or, er, everyday if your daughter’s anything like ours, and insists on wearing hers to the supermarket!).

For more twinning inspo, be sure to check out the instagram accounts of these super stylish mamas below.

EMMI MASTEN

Emmi Masten is one of the creatives behind Australian label ‘Isabeau’, which offers stylish, modern robes in vivid colours and stunning botanical prints. She is married to professional footballer Chris Masten from the West Coast Eagles and together they welcomed their first child, Tex last year.

I sit down with Emmi to chat about her career, motherhood and what’s next for this beautiful family.

Tell us a little about yourself and your background?

I am currently in my second year of motherhood!

My background is in Public Relations yet the past year has seen me take a back seat as I’ve been concentrating on raising a little man full of beans!

What is a typical day in the life of for you?

My son wakes Chris and I up around 6.30am and I’m either making him porridge or my husband makes him egg soldiers. We have a coffee together before Chris leaves for work.

It’s usually about this time, I go over and respond to work emails for my robe company Isabeau. Tex is always keen to get out and about so I am often taking him to local parks and cafes, usually with some of the West Coast partners who also have young kids.

In the afternoon, I am fulfilling and sending off orders and on given days catching up with my business partner Nadia Rosa to go over upcoming plans.

Do you have any family rituals? What are your favourite things to do together?

Baby chinos and croissants! You’ll often find us at one of our local cafes with Tex and our two Boston Terriers. I cannot tell you how many croissants I have consumed during this pregnancy!

I’m trying to make Pancake Sundays a thing too.

What inspired you to start Isabeau?

I’ve always invested in beautiful loungewear and felt there was a market for effortless robes that showcased interesting prints and came with an affordable price tag. I also wanted something I could throw on while getting ready to go out or for lazing around on the weekend.

The range is gorgeous, we love the effortless elegance that Isabeau exudes.

Would you say this is an extension of your personal style?

Isabeau is definitely an extension of my personal style. My love affair for botanical prints has continued to grow and these days I try to inject a lot more colour into my dressing.

How has your personal style and wardrobe changed since becoming a mum?

I definitely haven’t rethought my style since becoming a mother, however I’d say I’ve had to master a few time management skills when it comes to dressing! I do now live in my sneakers which I usually pair with a relaxed dress or good quality jeans. Dry Shampoo is also my new best friend or a classic topknot hairstyle!

What is the best thing about being a mum?

Oh where do I start? Gosh this is a hard one. Perhaps the infinite love one person can have for you. Or maybe it is the huge grinning smile I receive each morning I wake Tex up. That look just sets me up for the day ahead!

As he grows, I see wonderful qualities of my husband in him. No matter how chaotic and hard some days seem, I look forward to each new day with him.

What is the most challenging thing about being a mum?

To me I would say it is just trying to be the best version of myself that I can be for him. I want to give my son the best experience of life and some days I ask myself ‘Am I doing enough?”. Sleep deprivation was a real challenge during the early stages but you get through it and you are onto the next thing.

It’s all a massive learning curve and you just have to have confidence in your method.

As a mother, what is your trick to multitasking?

My trick is having a wonderful support system! I’m so lucky to be so close to my mother and mother-in law who help out whenever they can. I try to get as much work done during Tex’s midday sleep but it really comes down to prioritising and realising you can’t do it all and it is ok to say no to certain things!

Emmi and Tex are wearing

With your husband being in such a highs and lows profession (wins and losses), how does this impact your family life? And how do you find balance?

I guess the key is trying our best to make it least affect our family life. These ups and downs have been with us for over 12 years, you become more accustomed to it and once you bring a child into the picture – you start to think beyond the rollercoaster of AFL.

We find balance by escaping down south, cooking together or immersing ourselves in our wonderful friends and family.

We have to ask about the Premiership. It must have been so special to share that day with Tex and Chris?

There’s only a few times in my life I’ve experienced a day so full of such a range of emotions.

Four of my closest friends (and partners of West Coast players) also had babies in 2018 so for us to have our kids attend the final made it such a phenomenal experience. The moment that will really stay with me forever is when we jumped the fence while the boys were on their lap of honour and I handed Tex over to Chris.

Tell us a bit about Tex’s style. Who is the biggest shopper, you or Chris? And what are some of your favourite brands for Tex?

I would say Chris is probably a bigger shopper than I am (his wardrobe is double the size of mine)! When it comes to Tex’s clothing, I love anything playful and loud! I thought I would end up dressing him in more of a classic way, however there are so many amazing international labels bringing out fun prints that I can’t help myself. My favourite kids designers at the moment are Bobo Chooses, Tiny Cottons, Mini Rodini and The Animals Observatory.

2018 was a massive year for you, welcoming your son, Tex, and of course the Premiership, and now 2019 is shaping up to be just as big. Can you share your news with us?

Yes 2019 will make it two under two as we welcome a new baby in October! Life is about to get even more crazy and we cannot wait.

Congratulations Emmi, Chris & Tex!!! We have loved getting to know you and Tex, and look forward to continuing to follow your family's journey.

INTRODUCING: OLLI ELLA WARES

Since its inception back in 2010 we have continued to be amazed and excited by the creativity and genuinely unique offerings from global lifestyle label Olli Ella. From their luggy's to their holdie house, their beautiful natural weave baskets and their floor rugs, each a bespoke design, sustainable and timeless. It is therefore no surprise that Olli Ella have just launched their first Women's apparel range, 'Wares' with matching complimentary pieces for children too.

As with all Olli Ella pieces, the design genius is the most interesting aspect of this capsule collection. Each piece has been designed to be reversible, making them wearable by Women at all stages of their life, including before, during and well after pregnancy.

At the heart of Olli Ella is their commitment to sustainability and ethical production. In Olli Ella's own words, we share with you the inspiration, passion and women behind Wares.

WARES it made? #whomademyclothes

Everything we do at Olli Ella, we do with the planet and people in mind. When we began the development of WARES, at the forefront of our minds was how to create this collection in a way that was fair to the environment and fair to the people producing it.

Our Concept
The concept behind the collection was to create timeless pieces, not driven by trends and made in an ethically certified factory using only organic materials. We wanted to create something that would never go out of fashion, and would last for years and years to come. The end result; the softest, comfiest, most effortlessly stylish and versatile staple piece that is easy to care for and made in a way that we are not only satisfied with, but incredibly proud of. This Fashion Revolution week, we wanted to introduce you to the faces behind WARES, at the very core of the collection; the women from our factory in India that made your WARES.

Our Factory
The women behind our WARES collection work from our single ethically certified factory in Chennai, on the Bay of Bengal in Eastern India. Most of the women are between 22 and 35 years old. It was so important to us to only work with a factory that complied with global ethical standards. This is why the factory we chose is SA 8000 certified, meaning that the minimum wage for India is met as a mandatory requirement.

Our Commitment

This is Olli Ella’s first step into the wild world that is the global fashion industry. As it stands, we are proud of the efforts we have made as newcomers to the business of sustainable clothing, but we understand that we too have a long way to go. Our promise to our customers, the planet and most importantly, to the people who make our garments, is to continue, tirelessly, on our sustainability journey. We are committed to mapping out our tier one supply chain and will strive to approach each phase of design, development and production consciously, in turn growing our knowledge of sustainable practises and hopefully contributing something positive to the world in the process.

We hope you love the Wares collection as much as we do. Its available online now at rundreisetipps, as well as many other much loved Olli Ella products.

Thank you so much for stopping by!!

OUR HOTTEST 3 NEW LABELS

Here at rundreisetipps we are committed to bringing to you the latest and greatest in children's fashion from around the world. Here are 3 of the best new labels to join the rundreisetipps family that you need to know.

This is the second season that we have stocked new Melbourne based label, Goldie & Ace, and we are as impressed as anyone with this labels evolution and direction in bringing something fun, new and totally unique to the often flooded and samey children's wear space. This seasons collection 'Almost Famous' brings us a heavy dose of 80's nostalgia in the form of wearable everyday styles with thoughtful details cut from lux fabrics, including terry towelling, linen, soft stretch cotton jersey and 100% wool. Our favourite from this collection would have to be the insanely cool 100% wool Rainbow Knit Sweater.

Currently only catering to the younger age bracket, styles are available in sizes 0-3M to 5 years. Designers Alana and Chris subscribe to a quality over quantity, buy less, wear it more and pass it on ethos with many of the styles being unisex.

Definitely one to watch, we are excited to see what Goldie & Ace bring to us next.

Coming to us direct from the adventure capital of the world, Crywolf is a New Zealand based label producing waterproof and hardwearing outerwear in their signature stylish prints. Lightweight and finished to an exceptionally high standard, these jackets are perfect for travel. Crywolf are all about function with their detail, including a peeked drawstring hood to ensure protection from the rain, adjustable elastic cuffs, double zip and button front, outer pockets and full lining

Available in 3 colour ways in sizes 2 to 12 years, with further colours to arrive from drops 2 and 3, including the amazing snow leopard. We know your kids are going to love exploring the great outdoors this winter in Crywolf.

We are beyond excited to bring to you Knot Kids as an Australian exclusive. I personally am a huge fan of this label, and have shopped it for my own two rundreisetipps for a number of years now. Knot styles bridge the gap between ultra preppy and casual with their classic cuts, quirky graphics and a level of quality that really needs to be seen to be believed. Every detail, seam, button and finish is a cut above, from the side neck buttons on the baby tee's for easy dressing, to the mini gathered shoulder and neck detail on the girls tees giving them a cute feminine edge and the fact that the t-shirts are constructed from UV reflective cotton. This is a label that has been doing and perfecting their craft for a long time, and it absolutely shows.

The currently collection 'Zulu' is inspired by nature and brings us a beautiful colour pallet of turquoise, blue, cream and grey, with styles including lux cotton knits, classic A line frill dresses, adorable animal head tee's, our favourite is the Giraffe, chambray pants and shirts, and the sweetest baby overalls.

Sizes are available from 3 months to 10 years. This is a label that we are sure you too will fall in love with.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected] if you have any questions about this collection, or if we can be of any assistance what so ever.

Thank you so much for stopping by!!
